On the ballot, Pennsylvania voters will be asked if they approve $625 million in new funding for a wide range of environmental initiatives. Located at 3709 Bulter Street in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, ARTEMIS is designed to expand the availability and use of green building products in the tri-state region by displaying and selling high-quality, environmentally responsible, building products. ARTEMIS offers an extensive selection of items that are good for the environment, perform well, and contribute to healthier living. Visitors can see, touch, smell and purchase materials they may know about but have not been able to easily access. They will be able to explore new options and work with staff to facilitate the search for the right materials to meet their needs. Roof Construction Cam Online: All eyes are on the south wing
roof of Hamerschlag Hall, the signature building for Carnegie Mellon
University, where a 4100 sf extensive green roof system is being installed.
Green roof enthusiasts can view the process and progress through a live
web cam! Construction is expected to be complete May 31, 2005. Learn

Kathleen A. McGinty named Carnegie Mellon University as one of 11 winners
of the 2004 Governors Award for Environmental Excellence for CMUs
New House, the first university residence hall in the nation to achieve
a silver rating under the LEED green building certification system.

Green Building Alliance is a nonprofit organization that integrates
environmentally responsible -- and high performance --design, construction
and operating practices into the Greater Pittsburgh market. As a result,
GBA will increase the human health, economic, environmental, and social
